Power Skating & Skills for Hockey or Ringette

Warrior Progressive Power Skating and Skills is designed for players to learn the proper skating techniques to increase speed and agility. Athletes must be able to skate forward, have some backwaards mobility and able to stop at least on one side. This is NOT a learn to skate program. Coaches will cover the foundation of skating which includes, balance, weight transfer, stopping, edges and forwards and backwards movement. Skills session could include, stick-handling, passing, shooting and puck/ring protection.
Equipment: Full hockey or ringette equipment is required including BNQ neck guards, CSA approved hockey / ringette helmet with cage and hockey/ringette stick. Sharpened skates, shin pads, hockey socks, ringette pants, hockey pants, ringette gurdle, jock or jill, shoulder pads, elbow pads, jersey, hockey bag, tape and water bottle.
Prerequisite: Student has advanced from Warriors Intro to Power Skating, or Academy of Skating Tot or Youth GOLD. Students need to be 100% comfortable on the ice and able to skate in a push glide sequence forwards and backwards. When registering for this program students must be able to stop both directions and use both their inside and outside edges. THIS IS NOT AN INTRO OR LEARN TO SKATE CLASS.
