Progressive Power Skating

Progressive Power Skating: The program is designed for players to learn the proper skating techniques to increase speed and agility. The program will focus on forward and backward edges, forward crossovers, tight turns, pivors, figure 8’s and 360’s. The focused skills will help in the athletes agility for maneuvering and deception, sudden stops and explosive starts, techniques to increase speed, power and evasiveness while controlling the puck. Also touch on body and puck positioning. ***This is NOT a Learn to Skate Program. If the athlete is unable to keep up WISTS coaches will advise to move athletes to the appropiate classes***
Pre-requisite: Passed Warriors Intro to Power Skating, currently enrolled in minor hockey or ringette
Equipment: Full hockey or ringette equipment is required including BNQ neck guards, CSA approved Hockey or Ringette helmet with cage and hockey or ringette stick. Skates, shin pads, hockey socks or ringette pants, gurdle or hockey pants, jock or jill, shoulder pads, elbow pads, jersey, hockey or ringette bag, tape and water bottle.
Program Dates: 8 one-hour sessions for $320.00+ gst
